Bengaluru, February 29: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah questioned if BJP- JDs are not ashamed to defend the injustice done to seven crore Kannadigas.
Replying to the debate on the budget in the assembly, he said that 1.40 thousand crores of tax goes from us to the central government. If we pay Rs 100 as tax, we get only Rs 12 in return from the centre. He said BJP should be ashamed to defend this.

The State saw a reduction of 4.7% in the 14th Finance Commission and 3.64% in the 15th Finance Commission which is a decrease of 1.07% to the state. Karnataka is the 2nd highest tax collecting state in the country and is the State which is treated unfairly. He said, “Does the BJP, which supports the Centre’s injustice, care about the Kannadigas?”
When Narendra Modi was the Chief Minister of Gujarat, he had asked not to collect taxes from Gujarat. We haven’t said that, he said.

The Chief Minister termed the opposition as powerless when they raised ‘Modi, Modi, Jai Shri Ram’ slogans while the CM was replying. ’You are running on the name of Modi. You are the one who is breaking the society. The chief minister shouted Jai Sita Ram and said that the BJP has an empty head, with no brain. He said that they had never read Ramayana and Mahabharata.
